This March, we are excited to feature Scott, a vendor known for his exquisite collection of antiques and one-of-a-kind pieces. Scott's passion for uncovering and sharing unique items has made him a favorite among our community. In this interview, Scott shares the stories and insights behind his collection, offering a glimpse into the world of rare finds at Vendors on Victory.
Q: Can you share the story behind one particularly special antique or one-of-a-kind item in your collection?
"I have a stacking Korean Tansu chest, made up of two chest cabinets that stack went on top of each other to form one unit upon buying the item I noticed on the very bottom there is a decommission sticker from the melon bank. At one point this was sent to auction by an executive at the Mellon Bank!"
Q: What do you think makes Vendors on Victory unique as a market?
"The sheer variety of the items offered by the 50+ different vendors everything from mid century modern to traditional antiques to modern design furniture to Chinoiserie & coastal lifestyle accessories."
Q: What role do community events or partnerships play in showcasing the unique offerings at Vendors on Victory?
"The monthly partnerships with the different Charity brings a different crowd of volunteers, board members and followers for specific cause. This brings a constant new wave of different people each month into the store."
Q: What advice would you give to individuals looking to discover hidden gems or unique pieces when exploring Vendors on Victory?
"I would suggest making a complete circuit of the store in one direction and then go back and go in the opposite direction often times you see things that you wouldn’t see otherwise! And the other most important tip I would offer is, if you see something like make an offer you never know what price the vendor will accept!"
